Careers in Agriculture - challenge yourself!

Agriculture: A highly skilled industry - both past and present.

A job in agriculture was often traditionally viewed as a job for lower achievers. As someone who achieved A levels and then a degree over 25 years ago I strongly disagree with this view. I think it was more a case of ignorance of what skills where involved with being a farmer - this is probably still the case today!

People involved in the agriculture industry are probably working with some of the most advanced technology and equipment found in any UK work place. From electronic identification and recording of livestock to satellite controlled and laser guided machinery.

Young people of today now have a greater choice of training and education courses available than ever before.

The Agriculutre-4-U pages on different Careers available in Agriculture, or the 'Environment and Land-based sector' as it is increasingly referred to, seek to provide a video taster of some of these options. Then rather than duplicate expert advice available elsewhere we then provide links to organisations who are devoted to provide all the necessary advice for what we see as an exciting and important career.
